Actaea Spicata

Actaea spicata (spicata Actaea) is a plant of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). The species is on the Dutch and Belgian Red list of plants as very rare and moderately decreased in number. The plant in the Netherlands in South Limburg. Actaea spicata occurs in humid forests on slopes, calcareous soil.

The plant is 30-60 cm high and has trifoliolate leaves and feathery leaves one-to twofold. The stem is branched. Actaea spicata blooms from May to June with small white flowers in ovoid clusters. The flowers have four to ten petal-like leaves, honey. The berries are black.

Actaea spicata is also used as ornamental plants for use. Furthermore, there is seed of commercially available, often in wild plant mixtures.
